INVITATION
We are pleased to invite (folk ensembles, choral ensembles, orchestras, brass
bands), (groups of children, youth and adults) to participate in the Iliades
International Traditional Dance Festival May 28 – June 1 Rhodes Greece 2025. The
purpose of our invitation to the Festival is to to present the cultural tradition of
different countries and to give the opportunity to the members of the groups to
meet, create friendships and presentation of culture through dance and music.The
idea of the Festival is to bring music closer to the world and to present music in
the streets and squares.
The festival is open to folk and choral ensembles, as well as orchestras regardless
of the gender and age of the members.

All ensembles have two shows, defile in the center of Rhodes, show in the center
of Rhodes in the old town, show on a stage in the center of town.
All folklore ensembles from all countries of Europe and the world can apply to
participate in this world festival without limitation of age or number of participants.
Rhodes harmoniously combines the medieval with the traditional element, lacy
beaches with pine-clad mountains, mountain villages with coastal settlements,
archaeological sites, medieval monuments and cosmopolitan tourist resorts with
traditional accommodations forming an unrivaled destination that can satisfy
every modern traveler.
This beautiful jewel of the Mediterranean hides in its heart a centuries-old history;
a magical past full of unexpected surprises and charming surprises. It reached its
peak in the 4th century. BC, when the famous Colossus was erected, the work of
Lindius Charis, a student of Lysippus. The rich history of Rhodes is spread in
every corner of the island, since every conqueror who passed by left a strong
mark.
Let’s become time travelers for a while and tour the Medieval city with the guides
of the Knights of St John as well as the beauties of the rest of the island.
Program
On the First day our flight should be in the morning it is desirable to plan your time
and arrive in Rhodes between 12:00 and 14:00 o’clock so you have time to rest a
little and then the rest go to the old city. The first dinner will be at 20:30. After the
dinner there will be a meeting with the representatives of all ensembles and with
members of the organizing committee.
On the Second day after breakfast, all ensembles will have free time all day. Those
who want can choose an optional excursion.
On Tuesday after breakfast, all ensembles will have free time until 14:00. They will
have an hour and a half to put on their costumes and at 18:00 all the ensembles,
dressed in their costumes go for their first performance they will walk through the
city center and arrive at the medieval town there each ensemble will have a
performance for 10 minutes. This performance will be held in the center of the old
town of Rhodes. After that are group photos of all the sets at the exit of the castle.
After the show we have a return to the hotel, dinner, rest or those who want an
evening walk.
On the Fourth day after breakfast, all ensembles will have free time until 14:00.
Meanwhile, two representatives from each team in their uniforms and with their
country’s flag and the board and two other people with the name of the team will
go to the reception at 12:00 with the District Governor at the district building to
give the gifts to the governor. In the afternoon, all the ensembles will be
transferred from the hotel to the festival site where at 20:30 the main program of
the event will begin.
The performance of all 15 ensembles is followed by an awards ceremony and
recognition, after which it is back to the hotel for dinner and a hotel feast with live
music.
On the Thursday after breakfast, the departure of the groups will begin.
